Elf Day for Alzheimer’s at Tabley House Nursing Home

On Friday 3rd December Tabley House Nursing Home hosted an ‘Elf Day’ in association with Alzheimer’s society. Although the event was limited due to current covid restrictions, it did not dampen the atmosphere at Tabley. Many of the staff dressed up in fantastic outfits and joined in with the residents in Christmas themed activities.

We also had a birthday that just so happened to fall on the day, so our elves joined in handing out her presents to open. As part of our elf day fundraising, we hosted a ‘name the Elf’ event to find a name for Tabley’s newest guest.

Staff sponsored a name as part of the fundraising and all names went in a hat for Resident Marjorie to pick from as part of her birthday celebrations. We are happy to announce the winning name of ‘Ginger’, the Tabley House elf. Our Deputy Matron, Rachel, sponsored the winning name and it is a very fitting name. We would like to thank all those who suggested names and donated.

This is only the beginning of our activities on the run up to Christmas. We have Christmas jumper day, our annual carol service, and a visit from the fantastic Canute Male Choir. There are many more activities planned for the coming weeks so keep an eye on the website and our social media pages! Again, we would like to all those who donated and dressed up for the day.
