Residents and staff at Tupwood Gate Nursing Home are very excited to get involved in the Caterham community food bank initiative. Many of the residents lived in the area before moving to Tupwood Gate and they feel strong ties to the community, they feel it is a small way to give something back.
The Trussel Trust supports a nationwide network of food banks and provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK. In the UK alone 14 million people are living in poverty including 4.5 million children. One of the residents said “we are very lucky to be here, warm and well fed, some are not so fortunate”
The staff are readily donating and are passing the message to the loved ones of our Tupwood family.
